Short but sweet

For such a short book (241 pages!) this packs a lot in. However, I personally didn't feel that it was warranted. I'd expected this book to focus mainly on the grief aspect and how each member of the family would overcome their own obstacles and how they'd grow as individuals - but the fact that a romance was thrown into the mix irked me.

I enjoyed the setting - I've never been to Italy so this book has definitely made me want to visit Rome and try real gelato, Italian pizza and to see the various sites around Rome.

As I said above, I didn't like the romance. The fact that Luke was seen kissing two other girls in a couple of days and Milly was still interested and throwing herself at him - just, no. It seemed really cheap and I didn't 'ship' them at all.

Overall, it was a really quick read - definitely one you could read in a couple of hours whilst relaxing next to the pool or on the beach. It was emotional and I had similar thought processes as Milly (especially her overactive imagination) which made me connect with the characters a bit more.

If you're after an easy, fast paced read then I'd recommend picking this up.
