This novel surprised me with how much I loved it! I was expecting a thriller/crime story but it turned out to be more of a abusive relationship/divorce tale. However I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The story follows a woman who is adamant of her husbands cheating but is left isolated and shamed due to the manipulation of her now ex husband.
The evilness of the ex husband was shocking and disturbing, the author managed to portray his personality perfectly to make the reader hate him.
I enjoyed reading the mental journey the main character went on throughout this novel, she learnt how strong and resilient she is and also learnt to depend on other people for support and help. The damage her husband caused was so evident but slowly and surely through the novel she healed and recovered.
The only reason this book doesn't receive 5 stars is because a big reveal was hyped but in my opinion when the secret was uncovered it felt anti-climatic, I was expecting something a lot more dramatic and dangerous.
But all in all, it was a fantastic novel with plenty of suspense and intrigue.
