I have mixed opinions on this one. I thought the opening chapter was very unique (I definitely haven't read anything like this before) and I liked that it slowly built a picture of the magical world. I thought the writing style was very good, particularly when Piranesi is listing the people who have ever lived. That said, it's not a genre I am keen on, and it didn't peak my interest enough to encourage me to read on.
I'm also not mad on the cover. Truthfully I wouldn't pick it up because I associate it with mythical legends and it's not something I gravitate towards.
