I love encountering a new fantasy 'world' and slowly bringing it into focus. It's like seeing a blaze of colours and patterns that are confused and incomprehensible but then slowly you bring them into focus and gradually the pattern becomes clear. I loved the beginning of this book - definitely one for me!
