Immediately entrancing!
I absolutely adored Susanna Clarke's 'Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell' so had been eagerly awaiting her next book - but also with a little trepidation because I wasn't sure it could possibly be as stunning. However, having read the opening pages of 'Piranesi', I now know that whilst being totally different in style, it promises to be equally dazzling.
I'm so looking forward to being able to lose myself in a labyrinthine story which will not only transport me to alternative mythical, gothic worlds but will offer some intellectual challenges along the way. Many of us have had to adapt to living in isolation this year so this feels like a very timely story and it will be interesting to discover how Piranesi negotiates his strange world.
Obviously I'm hoping I'll be the reader fortunate enough to win this prized signed copy ... but if I'm not, I'll definitely be buying this book:-)
