I loved the television series of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, was totally bemused by it but loved it. This by the same author sound equally as bizarre, a person (possibly?) alone in a house that sounds like it's the size of a town. He charts the changes, although not a lot really changes until the day messages start to appear, chalked on the ground. Are they a warning? And more importantly, who is leaving them? Fascinating!
