Mystical fantasy labyrinth

A beautifully written gothic fantasy novel. This is unusual and intriguing. Piranesi lives in a house or the world as it is known to him with endless corridors and floors like nothing seen before. His only visitor is The Other a scientist who is also human. This is like being in a labyrinth disguised as a house where you cannot find the centre or even the exit but then why would you want to escape. It was so exquisite and unique I wanted it to go on long after the last page. The story is being told to us but who are we. This is so unusual and enchanting like nothing I have read before. To understand what I am reading before I reach the end would ruin the mystery and so I plead ignorance until the last word.
