I'm going to be honest, this book is very much like marmite. You will either love it or hate it. Now I found myself quite enjoying the story. I'll be honest that at times the writing is quite wordy, however if you love the likes of Austin then that won't be a problem. The book is very long compared to most similar titles on the market, but although it looses traction a bit in the middle its worth it to keep reading.
This book looks at what life would have been like if magic really did exist, and a few special people were able to wield it. It makes the charterers search deeply and see what they are truly made of, something not all books manage to achieve. There are some amazing characters that you just can't help but hope they come out on top. But as with any good book it has some good twists and turns and has characters striving to be better. Suzanne has created a great many great secondary charests that mostly don't take away from the main story. The only complaint I have is some characters at the end really to a complete 180, but that's I think an each to there own preference complaint. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.
