I found this book to be rather bizarre but I think I liked that. I listened to this on audiobook and I think I am glad I did as it gave me a bit more of an immersive experience of the book. Even if I do now never want to hear the words ‘albatross’ and ‘vestibule” ever again! What I enjoyed most, and also what creeped me out completely, was that the plot of this book is entirely plausible - with my idea that the house is an actual place. The character of Piranesi was a strange one. I felt sorry for him but not because of how he ended up in the situation but that he actually saw the house as home. I find it bizarre to think that a person could be that immersed into another life. I enjoyed how the story develops and reveals bit by bit and how Piranesi builds up relationships with the different people who come to visit him in the house. There were parts of the story which felt a bit mundane but I enjoyed listening!
