What a ride that was! I was told by so many reviews to go in blind, and I will advise the same. As I listened to it I had several questions, and I wondered if they’d be answered. Some were, others not. I had so many theories of which some came true while some didn’t.

While I was listening I kept pausing to jot down my theories, a bit like Piranesi with his relentless journal entries.

And at the end of it all I still have questions! I’m still not even 100% sure what was going on but my goodness was it good.

(If anyone who has read it wants to share the theories you had while reading, message me! This book made me want to talk about it so much but I don’t want to give any spoilers away!)

All in all this was so gripping, Piranesi and his world is amazing, and I highly recommend listening to the audiobook version, beautifully narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor. I know this is a book I will revisit in the future.

I found it very calming to listen to, then the tension built as it went on. We meet Piranesi while he’s exploring ‘The House’ and documenting its many labyrinthine rooms full of statues. Just as Piranesi tries to understand his world, we are also left trying to make sense of it all.
I can’t say more than this! Read it, or better, listen to it and send me all your wild theories as you go!!
