This book has a really clever central concept which keeps you guessing and draws you in. The central character is well defined and guides you through the twists and turns of the plot. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a different kind of story. It’s an unusual fantasy with great world building and elements of the supernatural, written entirely from the viewpoint of “Piranesi” himself as he navigates the house where he lives and tries to understand who he is and how he got there. This book will leave you questioning what defines us and how easy or difficult it is for that to be challenged by changes in circumstance. If you’re looking for a book that makes you think then this will fit the bill. The interaction of the three leads is fascinating, with an interesting twist on who we should trust friends or strangers. All in all an excellent read.
