My my this was a long book!
To be clear, I am reviewing the Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell book, not Piranesi as this is the copy I received.
It took me a while to start the book, the sheer size of it having made me panic and push back the moment I would start it.
All in all, not the type of book I would usually pick for myself, but this was certainly a nice read. I had to push myself to get further in the story though, as I couldn't quite get into it. I am not a native english speaker and the vocabulary, expressions and wording here made things more complicated for me. I would imagine for any english speaker though, this would go into the 'well written books' category. It really is, it was just hard for me haha.
The plot takes a while to start, but every little detail ends up being of importance, which was nice. I eventually grew fond of the characters. A nice book that I would recommend - but be prepared, it is lengthy.
