This is a strange book - Piranesi lives in a big house that has lots of rooms and statues , The halls occasionally flood , he is alone apart from one other person who he calls 'Other'. They are the only people here and spend time in different parts of the house and only meet a couple of times a week. They have an odd friendship - Other is using Piransei to find out information about the rest of the house for him and to unearth any secrets it has. This is a mystical, mythical and fantasy type of book . Its a quick read and I did enjoy it. It left me with lots and lots of questions afterwards and I was thinking about it for days - its a great book for a book club because there is so much to discuss ! Is Piranesi mad? At one point I thought he was in the hospital in a coma and this was him trying to understand where he was . There is lots that you can discuss Would love to see this as a film maybe I could understand it more !
