What a treat for a chilly, dark April morning. I think I fell in love with this slightly disfunctional but very normal family from the off. Jess sounds like a right handful (what 3 year old isn't?) and Flo the perfect balance of big sister and hormonal teenager. Mum, mum is marvellous! I actually found myself sniggering along with her diary entries - particularly the horror of a salon tanning bed (once and never again). Witty, warm and very realistic.
