Before starting this book I was not aware the Brogan family were of Irish origins, therefore the author has done an excellent job as I familirised myself with them being so as I was reading. As with most books written about this time in history I am sure I will be informed of the rationing, hardships etc of that time, although Im certain it won’t lessen the enjoyment of reading it. The author has done a great job of bringing the characters to life, ( I think Queenie will be my favourite! ). There are already many characters in the book to read about already but I hope there will be more along the way to enjoy. I hope Love, loss, heartache and happiness await me in this book which is as it should be being based in that time of history.
