A really impressive beginning. I have high hopes this book will continue to impress the more I read!
Having read Donnelly’s previous novel Stepsister, which in the same vein re-tells a classic fairytale, and loved it I had high expectations for this book. The first look tells me I will not be disappointed. The darkness and grit Donnelly brought to Stepsister is there in the initial chapters of Poisoned. The element of suspense is also there which really draws you in and leaves you wanting more. This first look makes me feel really excited to read on!
