This isn't normally a genre I would go for but this first impression did draw me in. I think it's interesting to revisit fairy tales from a more modern perspective and this books seems to do this well. From this short extract I didn't feel completely drawn in but I can see how Sophie's character is being slowly developed. I did also like that the book started from the end and then went back in time so you are always anticipating that bad thing.
