This is a retelling of Snow White which as an idea I found intriguing. However, the opening scenes, as a tool to demonstrate the cruelty of the stepmother didn't appeal as it all focused around cruelty to animals - a hunt of a wolf and then the slaughter of all the hounds as a punishment for the runt of the litter being afraid of the wolf.
