This reimagining of the classic tale of Snow White had me hooked. The first chapter helped set up the book and allowed the reader to see that the villain in this story is not who you may think.

This book switches between the point-of-view of many characters. This is normally something I do not personally like, however, in this story, it’s perfect. It gives the reader a chance to see the story from a new perspective than that of the classic. Now you can understand what the all characters were thinking, which I absolutely adore. The author perfectly balances the characters personalities. They all have their own unique traits and those that you would usually see in the classic. Overall, the characters were diverse, realistic, and left me yearning too see how they grow.

I loved how the author incorporated issues we see today in society in to this book. One issue, I noticed in particular was gender inequality. I am super excited to see how she touches more on the subjects as the story continues.
