I started reading this with high expectations and I was not dissapointed. After reading Stepsister I already knew that I'd probably love this book, but I had no idea of the way the tale of snow white could be twisted as a retelling.

She is written very similar to her true nature, but the way she is shown to grow from a naive girl to a strong woman is so empowering in this day and age. At earlier points in the book her character did annoy me a little, how she was at times too nice, or made bad decisions but I guess that was kind of the point. She made both good decisions and bad. But she made them herself. She didn't need anyone else's input or opinion, when she was completely capable herself.

I loved that about this book and it's made this author an auto buy one for me now. I just love the underlying messages to her tales and love how the real fairytales were told with different messages and now the retellings are written to give power and strength to the girls.
