I love a good fairy tale and I love adaptations of the traditional, dated fairy tales. This is a modern day version of Snow White, but is unlike any Snow White you have read before.
I found the story tough to get in to, but once I was there, I absolutely loved it! A modern day Snow White who kicks ass!
There are a few darker twists through the story, but nothing too gruesome. All of the traditional characters you would normally find in Snow White are there, but are very different from usual. The mirror is there too, but not in the same way as usual.
The author has taken a traditional story and resold it as her own. Her style of writing is easy to read but full of fantastic descriptions. Your imagination will run wild with all the fantastical characters.
Feminist but real. Caring but ass-kicking. This book has an important message.
