Poisoned is an interesting and fresh twist on a classic fairy tale which many of its readers will be familiar with. I have been a fan of reimagined fairy stories after reading Wicked and so was looking forward to Poisoned. Hot Key Press have been publishing lots of excellent books recently so I had high hopes for this one. The prologue is great at setting the scene in a snappy but interesting way. I think Poisoned will appeal to those who enjoy fantasy books but not necessarily just young adult readers. I think we all, regardless of age or indeed gender, need some light relief from the realities of the current pandemic and Poisoned is a great way of accessing some escapism. The cover art is beautiful and Poisoned definitely stands out in the simplicity but boldness of the design - it will look lovely on a table display when it hits the shops!
