This is a fantastic story with a twist on the classic fairytale 'Snow White'. Here we follow the story of Sophie who is soon to be the Queen but lacks strength and is rather weak according to her step mother. What is really refreshing however is that unlike in the original 'Snow White everyone knows where the step mother is truly evil and greedy, here we see a different side of these story. One where the Queen has to be evil to display her strength and show how being a female Monarch does not make a country weak.
The writing is splendid and easy to grasp but still has a magical tone to it. The characters have depth and make you more intrigued to find out more about them. If you are someone who likes strong females and twists, then you will love this book just as I do. Plus the story also has a dark theme to it which is just perfect as not all fairy tales are filled with happiness and joy. Definitely check this book out if you're looking for something different.
