Poisoned improved as it went along, and became much better than what I thought it was going to be. It draws the reader in with a different perspective on a cliche story, featuring a cussing Snow White, other additional characters and great hoped filled messages e. g kindness is not a weakness. Sophie is out to prove this. I think this is a good book for young teens because of the messaging, though it is a darker undertone to it. The Castle scene towards the end is quite graphic and can be an unpleasant read. The story is a more realistic twist on the fairy tale but, at the same time, not missing out on key elements of the story. There is even some humour and witt. I thought the narrator was confusing, because I thought it changed from the Huntsman to someone else. This is not the case. It reads a little like a film with the narrator over the top. I would recommend this book.
