I have enjoyed Jennifer Donnelly's books for a long while, both her adult and YA books are often favourites of mine. For adults, I do recommend her Tea Rose series, particularly 'The Winter Rose'.
This new series of fairytale retellings is also a fabulous idea - who doesn't love a good fairytale, and with Donnelly's feminist twist there's even more to be happy about.
I loved 'Stepsister', so was really looking forward to 'Poisoned' (what a fabulous cover design as well) and I wasn't disappointed, at all!
A great adventure with likeable characters, ups and downs, twists and turns as we followed our protagonist Sophie, who is a reworked version of Snow White - there's a great evil queen, with a little more depth added about her past for the reader, and a really interesting 'dead' narrator to boost the fun.
Thoroughly recommended fairytale reworking from a talented writer.
