This was the first retelling of a fairytale I have read. As a child I loved fantasy fairytales and still enjoy them today as an adult whether in books or movies.
Poisoned retells the story of Snow White. I did not know what to expect. The story begins with Sophie being led into the forest by the Huntsman and being saved by the seven brothers.
There is definitely many familiarities with the traditional story of Snow White. Although the story becomes its own with separations between Snow and Sophie.
I enjoyed parts of the book, however I don’t have a strong connection to the story of Snow White.
I tend to prefer a more dystopian form of fantasy and I feel this is why I didn’t get on so well with this book as it was slightly too unrealistic for me.
