The prologue immediately got me hooked. This book is the perfect mix of adventure and fantasy and I absolutely love the strong female character. The cover is also beautiful and very compelling. As a feminist myself, I loved this book and how it portrayed this view. However I must admit, initially going into this book, I thought it was going to be a typical snow white story, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much it had to it- it perfectly portrayed the way I wanted the original plot to go. Speaking on plots, I absolutely love it! I also loved how the relationship between her step-mother was written and the power complexes in the roles of father daughter and the unwanted replacement of mother. It was such an enjoyable, enlightening and detailed read that was such a great spin on the classic fairy tale of Snow White.
