its dark from the get-go, it puts a twist on the fairy tale we all know and love. it immediately begins with murder and tension through the start. you get a change of narrative and opinion as it is told from the perspective of the murderer. it’s really interesting and it’s the type of book that you think about after you’ve put it down. i only read the first 30 pages but it was enough to make me want to buy the book. i believe it is the type to be talked about with friends and it could start some kind of debate about which other fairy tales have a dark twist, as i’m sure lots do. the author, jennifer donnelly has written another book based around a fairy tale called stepsister. it’s often quite difficult to write a review on a book based on the first few pages but this has been easy since it’s been full of action from the very first page. i really recommend
