From the first 30 pages, I have already fallen in love with this book:
- The short chapters draw in readers quickly, as does the close relationship between the narrator and their audience. The pace is quick so this book will be great for getting out of a reading slump.
- The plot is a classic fairytale retelling- one of my favourite genres anyway. This immediately comes across as an original story with a well-written plot.
- The main character, Sophie, is sweet and easily loved, and you want to see her grow as a person. Also, the ‘villains’ in her story are intriguing. They too, are fully dimensional characters with their own stories.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this book and will definitely be reading soon!
