i thought this book was amazing. i've only read the sneak peek, but it seems captivating; hooked me straight away. i was drawn in by the cover, and then by the idea of a snow white retelling, especially because i don't really like the snow white fairytale much.
the writing is effortlessly elegant, and it sticks to what i know about the original fairytale, but the author's retelling is woven into it wondrously and you can tell it's not your typical fairytale. it's powerful, and the idea of the princess fighting for herself, and taking what is hers is amazing to me, especially because of the prominent sexism in all fairytales. it is something that we all ignore, and reclaiming and re-writing it to make a woman fight for what is hers without the help of a man? amazing.
