From the first word you are enticed by the story and by the main characters. The story is narrated by the huntsman and he is very sorrowful for what he has done. Instantly you are on the princesses side and want her to win this fight against evil. Even a few minutes in you can tell what kind of character Sophie is, which fuels your love for her even more. The novel is quite similar to the film mirror mirror in that its a twist on the fairy tale of snow white which makes the story seem very familiar but at the most random moments it twists in the most unlikely way, so you are never sure where the story is heading. This just makes for a more interesting story and I highly recommend it for fairy tale lovers.
