I always love a good retelling so of course I would jump at the chance to read this one. After reading Jennifer Donnelly's debut, Step Sister, I was definitely intrigued to read Poisoned.

Poisoned follows Sophie in the place of the classic Snow White. Her kindness disgusts the Queen Adelaide (who is only the regent, and has been since Sophie's father died 6 years prior) and following the classic story, does not want Sophie on the throne.

The characters in this book where by far my favourite part. Sophie was likeable, had a full and interesting personality, and then there are the seven dwarfs. The seven dwarfs, in this book being seven brothers who all have varying job titles, are funny, witty, and their brotherly bond is really something quite unique.

This book was a really interesting retelling of Snow/Sophie going on a true adventure to save herself and the kingdom!
