It was engaging and I enjoyed every word. I like fairy tale retelling so I knew I would enjoy it but it exceeded my expectations! It was beautifully written and the characters have distinct personalities which can be developed as the book progresses. This makes it a more interesting read and you can follow the journey both, physically and mentally, of the characters. The way they are presented shows the differences in ideas and thoughts. They contrast each other and successfully connect. Making the book easy to understand and though there are parts which are harder to follow, overall it is an easy read. I think it would be an enjoyable read for anyone who enjoyed books such as the lunar chronicles and other retelling.
