The writing itself was alright, it is a little young for my taste - I would place it at the ages of 12-15 which is assuringly their target audience as lower levels of vocabulary seemed to be used. The author seemed to switch between the views of the characters, first the point of view was the huntsman until he stabbed her at which point it claimed she felt no fear or pain but the warmth of her blood as it spilled. The author then switched back into the point of view from the huntsman which caused the scene to lose the flow it had going. Overall I don't think this would be a book I would enjoy however it could be a good starter book for those who enjoy fairytales but need a new version of the story as this is portraying the views of the huntsman.
The characters themselves are not described in this section along with missing details of the landscape making it harder for the reader to grasp what type of emotion lies within the scenery. I believe with more description and sticking to one point of view could make this a great book for young teens getting into reading!
