The description of characters are well worded and thought out. Although this isn't a book I would glance at the prologue made me want to go buy it. Jennifer Donnelly's books are always interesting and I absolutely loved her book Stepsister and Deep Blue. I would love to get my hands on this book because of her work. Although it's a long book I can't wait to read it. This book also seems to be a type of adaptation from Snow White but more mature.
I initially had difficulty following the writing style for a few pages, but after a few pages you get into it and realize how funny it is. The interplay between the characters makes it a fascinating read. Sophie is played as an innocent character who can't be made princess but I can't wait to see how she is portrayed further into the book. A fairytale that might not make it into the happily ever after phase.
