This book looked extremely interesting when I first saw it. At a first glance, it seemed to be a simple retelling of the classic fairy tale, Snow White, but I picked it up and it looked and felt more than that. And I was right. This is a fresh, feminist outlook on the ancient, musty fairy tale written by men, intended to portray women as feeble and weak, or plain evil, needing to be kissed by a man to live. Well, not any more. I loved the feel of the story and the way it portrayed our darling little Snow White. This story really moved me and made me feel anger, spite, disgust, and it made me feel real empathy.
This story also tickled my brain in the right spots. I love fairy tales and fantasy novels, so obviously I had to read this book. Overall, I would give it five stars and would I recommend it? Yes, most definitely. I absolutely adore this amazing story!
