The beginning reminds me of The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. I always love retellings but I like the new perspective of having it from the Huntsman perspective. The prologue is keeping me turning the page, I need to know what's going to happen. And is there a love triangle brewing? I like the royal aesthetic of it all, the language making it seem like a royal court. The mentions of greek mythology make me smile, I love greek mythology even if it isn't the focus of the story it still is interesting to read.

I love that the writer switches to the different characters, we can see the dynamics and creates realistic friendships and relationships in the story. I like the portrayal of the Evil Queen from an almost feminist perspective, I don't want to like her due to her cruelty but I somehow do. She is shown as a strong, independent Queen which reminds us of the expectations of women and men, again reminding me of Angela Carter.
