I often don’t like to read re-tellings because I don’t think you can do better than the original but with Snow White there’s not much too to the tale. So there’s so much that can be done and changed with this tale. After reading the first chapter , I’d love to read some more to see what path the author wants to take , especially when it comes to the evil step mother. The writing in this book is so beautifully done from the descriptions of Sophie and her cherry red lips to the descriptions of the settings, so although you may think you know how the story will pan out, the journey is always better than the destination. I find that dark retellings of fairy tales , although never beat the original , satisfies something within my own dark soul. I love how fairy tales can have a sinister side to it which is exactly what I’m hoping for with this book! Especially in regards to the characters
