This book is a welcome addition to my collection by this author. The book follows the tone of step sister in retelling the story of a classic fairytale without missing out some some of the forgotten moments, that may not be the most admirable for young children. I love the feel of the book, as I dont feel I am being kept at arms length from the characters or from their true stories, as I sometimes do with other books. I feel involved, perhaps to an extreme that makes me feel somewhat guilty for enjoying the text so much.

The plot is complex yet easily followed and understood, as the tale is somewhat similar to the origional whilst being a contemporary twist of the classic.

The characters are very deep and rich with lots to offer to the story as the tale unfolds, never was I bored when reading this book. Though there wasnt much time wasted as I read the whole book in one day.

Great book and the cover is brilliant!
