I honestly don't think this book is as good as I expected it to be. I found it hard to like or admire Princess Sophie, (aka Snow White) - a good kind girl but a bit of a wimp!
The wicked Queen is a much more interesting and believable character.
Sometimes the narrator changes for little reason which is rather confusing.
The seven brothers are obviously an integral part of the story, (they're the reason Sophie is alive with a clockwork heart after she was killed by the Huntsman) and they encourage her to take back her heart from the murderous Queen.
I don't feel the different kingdoms are explained, with their various Princes, frightening creatures such as ogres, they sometimes seemed to be there just to remind me the story is based on a fairy-tale.
But of course Princess Sophie needs to get her original heart back and claim her rightful place on the throne, so with her not so merry band of followers has to win through
