In this retelling of Snow White, we follow the perspective of Sophie (aka Snow), the Huntsman, and Adelaide (the Queen). Sophie is a kind young woman with a merciful heart who wants to do good. However, she is heir to the throne and - as her stepmother says - queens cannot show weakness. Thus she masks her kindness and follows along with the queens often harmful plans. Our other narrators also have hidden secrets and emotions that they slowly reveal.
This novel shows strong promise with it's hidden villain and the new insight to the story gained from the new perspectives. The dialogue does struggle some as it seems to range between modern vocabulary and a more old-fashioned style. This does not take much away from the promising plot and characters however.
