Poisoned is a very well written book that captures the reader within the first few words. Not only is the plot a recognizable plot with a literary twist, but the opening paragraph has intricate detail that instantly pulled me, as a reader, into the book.
Reading the first little portion of the book was a true experience that transfers you in to another world. Books are meant to be portals to another world, a place to leave all the worries and stress of normal life, and this excerpt did exactly that. It was whimsical and it transferred me into another world.
One of the best things about reading this excerpt would be how easy it was to envision the plot in my mind. I personally think that the author's attention to detail truly helped create that clear mental picture for the reader.
It is definitely a book that I would read in it's entirety in the future.
