i loved this retelling. the language was so powerful, along with the characters. each one is crafted to carefully and they all have a unique purpose. i feel the queen would be hated on for being so harsh but she has a strong sense of character and knows how to rule with her head and not her heart. though i feel as if there is a big opportunity for a huge character development from her. as for sophie, she’s a mediocre princess who wants love so hopefully she can figure out how to rule for herself. also having it from the huntsman’s point of view makes it more interesting as a reader as we’ve had it from everyone else’s. next is the forest animals🤣. it looks like a lovely fantasy book i would pick up in the sun, preferably as it would be too bland in the dark weather. hopefully, i can get a copy of this book as i am super excited to read the rest of the story!
