I devoured this book like you would a ration of bread and cheese if trapped in Darkwood. This story really touched my heart in so many ways. A classic tale that through its twists and turns teaches us a moral that we all very much need reminding of in these modern yet scary times.
The most important theme, though, is that we should stop listening to the voice that says I can't. Sophie meets people who tear her down and people who build her up, and she teaches herself to stop listening to the former and pay more attention to the latter. A lot of reviews are calling this feminist, and I agree that it is, but I think men and boys can benefit from it just as much. Everyone needs to be reminded not to listen to that voice, after all.
Really enjoyed step sisters so got this book, and I wast disappointed.
Love the short chapters so handy to read when on the move or short of time.
Great retelling of a classic with a twist, I tried to take my time with the book so it lasted longer.
