This sounds like the type of novel which draws you in slowly and never lets you go - a bit like quicksand - did she disappear in quicksand ? - there, solved already! There is bound to be a dementia sufferer in almost every family, so we can all relate to the situation. But adding in a missing person's case is pure genius.
