The boom opens with a quote from Purcell’s baroque opera, Dido and Aneas, which suggested there will be themes of abandonment.

We are given a quick glimpse into the recent past (the 90s) where we briefly meet a character who then vanishes.
Returning to present day the book then explores what happens 25 years later, as the truth is slowly revealed.
Asking the question ‘is it better not to know?’

This is my first read from the author but based on the first look I would definitely go on to read this novel.
