I found the first pages of this book to be a hauntingly accurate description of the progress of dementia. The passages of the father now present and the father of memory are so well written, and accurate. I nursed dementia sufferers for years and the wavering between being an alert person who knows their relatives, and the absent person in their own altered reality is heartbreaking. This author has captured this so well, in just a few pages.
The hint of a disturbing secret hiding in the shadows is another well written aspect of the writing.
I cannot wait to read the full version of this book, and I will also be seeking out the authors other books too.
