Loved the opening chapters. Really well written and gripping from the outset. Unfortunately I have found myself in a similar situation - returning from abroad to care for a father with progressively worsening dementia. I, of course, did not have to contend with the unexplained disappearance of a neighbour. Interested to find out how this unfolds - a human interest story combined with a mystery sounds fantastic. Add to that the beautiful setting of New Zealand - I have to read this.
