I love the setting of the opening of this novel! I don't think I've read anything set in New Zealand before and am intrigued by the idea of an unfamilar and remote setting - Leah's trek into the forests and uplands sound interesting, even before we get to the carniverous snails! I liked the narration by Emily, returning to a father who is being taken away by dementia - and I definitely want to know why, 3 weeks later, she's headed back to London! The dementia storyline is sad though.
