The prologue concerns the disappearance of Leah, young woman who goes missing while hiking near her New Zealand home. 25 years later, Emily, the last person to see her alive Received a phone call from her dads neighbour at her home in England.

Her father, with whom she has a distant ( both literally and metaphorically) relationship has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Reluctantly she sets off to visit him, although it is evident that this stay will be longer than she planned. Her father was also a hiker and the blurb, as well as an envelope he gives her to be opened after his death, indicate that he has some involvement, or at least knowledge, of Leah’s disappearance. An interesting start of washes obviously going to be a mystery full of twists and turns. However it also deals with the effect of dementia on a family, something more and more of us are getting to know about. A real page turner and if I had the whole book I would still be reading it now. Yes please, bring it on!
